Gravity Falls Pops Back Up
Even if I try like REALLY hard, I can’t come up with an accurate count of how many times we’ve watched Gravity Falls. My kid was the ideal age when the show first aired on the Disney Channel, and it was one of the first TV shows we actively watched as a family. All three of us enjoyed the show with the same level of enthusiasm, even with a big generational gap between us and our offspring. That is the hallmark of a good, nay, great show. Gravity Falls has the offbeat magic that not only sings to young and old but also it hums a narrative song that stands the test of time.
We’ve done Gravity Falls for Halloween, all three of us in various degrees of Dipperness; we collected the Gravity Falls Vinylmations (remember those?!?); we stood in line to get Alex Hirsch’s autograph at D23 while trying to avoid an actual brawl happening with the rabid Descendants fans next door; and one time we even had the opportunity to visit the Gravity Falls show office at the Walt Disney Studios. As proof, here’s a pic of my kid atop the full-sized stuffed buffalo that, for some reason, lived in their workspace. So yeah, we were/are fans.
Even though the series ended in 2016, we devotees still get little nuggets of Gravity Fall-ishness, and now, in the coming months (and year), we have three new ways to bask in the show’s glow.
The Art of Gravity Falls
This is the “definitive visual history” of the show and includes over 2000 pieces of artwork and tidbits from Alex Hirsch, producer Rob Renzetti, and much of the creative team. There’s never-before-seen concept art, character sketches, storyboards, and color scripts, all wrapped up in a coffee table-worthy package. Oh, and yes, there will be intel on hidden Easter eggs in the series, cos who doesn’t love an Easter egg?

The Art of Gravity Falls: 10 Years Post Weirdmageddon
Running from September 26th to October 11th, Gallery Nucleus will host a tribute exhibition. If you were lucky enough to hear about this event early, you could have gotten a ticket to the opening event, which included a Q&A with Alex Hirsch, a book signing, and a live drawing session. But if you, like I, didn’t think ahead, we can always visit the gallery during regular hours or see the tribute art online.

Gravity Falls: Lost Legends
An online incarnation of the Lost Legends graphic novel with four brand new Dipper and Mabel adventures will premiere on Webtoons – a digital comic platform – in 2027. The four independent tales will be woven together by our old pal, the gnome Shmebulock.
