Tim Burton x Loewe: The Nightmare Before Christmas Collection DEETS!

Just in time for the holiday shopping crunch, Tim Burton and the Spanish luxury brand Loewe have announced a new high-end collaboration in honor of The Nightmare Before Christmas.

This will be a curious collection, embracing the Tim Burton aesthetic in surprising ways. It will launch on November 12 with handbags, leather goods, accessories, ready-to-wear, and scented candles. While they have only shared a couple of photographs, Vanity Fair writes that the collection will include “a range of handbags with whimsical recreations of the film’s most beloved characters. Zero, Jack Skellington’s dog, floats on the side of a handbag; the Harlequin Demon is rendered with feathers and leather scales; and Skellington himself is painted as a peekaboo surprise inside a carryall.”

They also made no mention of prices, but the aforementioned carryall – made in the standard Loewe version – starts at $4900. This is a popular item from Loewe, and the openness of the design is a big feature… taking on a relaxed silhouette anchored by a single toron top handle. It is designed to be carried open, while a concealed closure secures the main compartment.” The Nightmare Before Christmas version will feature Jack in the open section.

It appears that there will also be bag charms in the collection, like the Wolfman above. This will also be an investment piece, with larger bag charms starting at about $550, but the Burton pieces will probably be in the $850-$950 range.

And I could be wrong, but the tin above certainly looks like it could be one of the scented candles they mentioned.

This isn’t the first time that Loewe has embraced beloved animation franchises. Loewe created a whimsy-filled collaboration with Studio Ghibli, with homages to My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, and Howl’s Moving Castle.

Also, Tim Burton announced on Halloween the launch of TimBurton.com, which will feature an online store, so if you can’t afford anything at Loewe’s, you can wait and see what Burton offers!

Side note – I always key into the environments that artists and luminaries live and work in. I’m wildly curious whether this rustic space is Tim Burton’s, or if it was just for the photo shoot. Either way, the team did turn the books around so no one can see what Burton (or whoever’s space it is) has been reading.
